Interval Training
I just got back from the gym; had a nice Sunday run. I would have done my running yesterday but the heavy snowfall must have scared the people working at my gym, so they closed early. I wish I had known that before I drove the whole way there!
I ran some intervals on the treadmill for a mile in total distance. I can already feel that my lungs need to get use to running again. I’m aiming to drop a little more weight with this workout so I added in a day of sprint intervals to help me reach my goal quicker. These are quick workouts but they’re fast and have different levels of intensity throughout.
If you’re still running on the treadmill at the same pace for like an hour straight, then you need to switch over to running intervals. I know it might be easier to stay at one pace, but you need to put in a little more work to achieve your goals. If you want to work your body harder and lose fat faster then interval training will get you there. Your workouts can be a lot shorter if you raise and lower the level of intensity throughout your runs.
